The key to Muslimah fashion is modesty so what is considered as modesty dressing for Muslims?

In the realms of Muslim faith, the principles of dressing which are considered as modest are as follows;

  • While Muslim women are required to wear Hijab in public, it isn't obligatory when you are in front of your relatives like uncles, sisters, grandfathers, brothers and so on.

  • You will need to cover your whole body including hands or neck. There is also an ongoing debate about which areas to cover and others to leave. Garments also vary from one Muslim country to another. For instance In Afghanistan women wear Burqa while Chador is worn by Afghanistan and Iraq women.

Why do Muslim women have principles guiding them how to dress?

Spiritually, Muslim women need to project their closer relationship with God, privacy and modesty.

After getting this introduction, let's face it!

As a Muslim girl, embracing your own fashion sense can be too tough an assignment, like a rocket science. After all, most women are huge fans of exposing their bodies, allowing their beauty to be flaunted. But in Islamic religion,  time and time again, we are being reminded about modesty.

Muslimah fashion is centered towards a modesty appeal, so what does it mean? —modest is defined as an appearance that exudes humbleness and shyness. There are plenty of gorgeous Muslim women who wear Hijab as their modest fashionable accessory. Hijab itself in Arabic means "cover" or "screen." — which is the most spoken garment when it comes to the foundation of Islamic dressing.

Modest is all about what you say, what you wear and how you act. It's all about staying true and consistent to the tenets of Islam. I know it can be a challenging task for Muslim women to get chic staples that instantly speak about modest and elegant things other than the basics ones. That's why I am writing this piece of article to let you know the ways that you can express your individuality as a royal Muslim woman.

I hope you will feel comfortable playing around with the perfect blend of hijabs, niqabs, shaylas, al-amiras and dupattas and other functional staples like wide leg jeans, maxi dresses, wide leg pants and so on. I am sure you are going to spark your Muslimah sartorial prowess without being tempted to go out of Islamic faith. So let's go directly to the tips.

Tip 1: Work with Muslimah wardrobe basics.

First of all, your basics instantly speak the language of who you are including your faith, these are signature staples that make you recognized as a Muslim woman. Check in your wardrobe  if you have sufficient Hijab, Niqab, Abaya, maxi dresses,  long sleeved tops with high-neckline and so on, if they do miss or less in number,  make sure you buy them in order to build a wardrobe full of modest pieces. They are the foundation and skeleton of your modest style.

These are the sub-tips for the basics.

  • Be sure to select breathable fabric. Cotton and linen are the best examples.

  • Be sure to select flowy silhouettes. They will flatter your body in a modest style. Unlike bodycon silhouettes that will expose your figure and so you will likely to defeat your faith instead of defending it.

  • Be sure to opt for pieces that are not splurge or extravagant or flashy. You will be against the fundamentals of modesty. To help you understand this, any pieces with designer logos are likely to be expensive ones like Jewelries. The goal is to make a low-key yet humble fashion statement.

  • Be sure to own some simple accessories like a watch, sunglasses, sneakers, boots. They will give a touch of finish to your modest outfit.

Tip 2: Be fun with colors.

Colors are great for making a visual statement on your outfit. So you won't like to opt for boring colors instead go for something distinctive, impressive, bold and eye-catching. For instance, I have seen stylish and modest muslim women wear blue jeans underneath, white flowy silhouette as an outer garment and a brown hijab. Be kind to yourself and never be boring.

Tip 3: Experiment with bold patterns and floral printed pieces.

Modesty doesn't mean you shouldn't polish your femininity. In fact, patterned and floral pieces are a subtle way to celebrate your Muslimah femininity. You are going to tell the world that you are a Muslim fashion queen or princess and therefore you deserve a special treatment. These pieces say that you are bold and romantic. Other Muslim women also rock animal printed outer garments and the result is no less chicness.

Tip 4: Prioritize a natural appeal.

You shouldn't focus on too much make-up or fragrance. Too much of anything is harmful. In fact, Muslim women aren't supposed to wear fragrance when they are near to men out of blood-relationship and so make-up. If you have a passion for make-up, try to keep everything neutral yet glamorous. Anything that has to do in order to elevate your beauty,  from foundation, lip gloss or lipstick has to be in neutral shades in order to give a natural and timeless feel. Your beauty should be highly original.

Conclusion:

Every woman is great in style, but what separates them apart is confidence. You are naturally born beautiful, elegant and stylish however, it's up to you to make it. Even if you are Muslim woman, you can be stylish and chic. Be bold when experimenting with new ways to realize your Muslimah chicness.
