Stiletto Heels: Glamorous and Showy Footwear for women in the early 1950s.

Stiletto heels were glamorous, attractive and showy footwear for women in the early 1950s

Stiletto heels were the celebrated new fashion pieces in the early 1950s. Previously—women never wore footwear that possessed noble characteristics as stiletto heels. Stiletto heels are instantly recognized for their glossy surface, elaborate high and thin heels. Thanks to the invention of an Italian dagger that became an inspiration behind the name, stiletto heels. Of course—stiletto heels were named after an Italian dagger that featured measurements of four or five inches tall and three-heights of an inch in diameter.

Stiletto heels have to be worn in an unusual way—meaning, not similar to wearing flat sandals. Women who wear stiletto heels are often noticed to be standing by their tiptoes, calf muscles are often affected and their chests are always pushed forward to attain a balance. Stiletto heels are a subtle choice when you want to accentuate your sexy legs. Glamorous and modern women like Ciara are addicted to pairs of stiletto heels. Ciara has athletic legs which are often a lifelong effect caused by wearing stiletto heels and she is proud of accentuating her legs muscles.

Stiletto heels was invented by an Italian designer, Roger Vivier (1913—1998), who sought to exploit the opportunity of Dior's The New Look Collection . Stiletto heels became the footwear of choice among women who put elegance and femininity forward.

Stiletto heels were out of trend soon after the early 1960s. I think they were not out of trend because they were too ugly for women but they were always advocated for their negative impact, including health related problems. In fact—airlines and some buildings banned stiletto heels by the late of 1950s.

But I don't really think that banning stiletto heels was a perfect choice for women. I extend my views to include an ode of femininity that stiletto heels have shown the capability of. Stiletto heels are an effective way to define legs, add height, flaunt toenails polish and add a luxury feel. Thanks to trend recycling—stiletto heels came back in style in the 1990s.

The love for stiletto heels was real among women—for instance, an actress, Jayne Mansfield (1932—1967) was reported to own two hundred pairs of the stiletto heels.
