The word "perfume" is used to refer to a broad spectrum of high-quality fragrances, but in actuality, there are many different concentrations of fragrances on the market. The price of perfume is determined by the amount of fragrance essence. The concentration of perfume is what is properly referred to as an extrait.
At room temperature, the aromas of the fragrant ingredients in each concentration are released when combined with alcohol. larger grade alcohol will be used to dilute a combination containing a larger percentage of perfume oil.
EXTRAIT: The most intense fragrance kind sold over-the-counter is this one. Usually, 15–30% of the concentration contains perfume oil. To balance the combination, high grade alcohol with a consistent purity of 90–95% is employed.
EAU DE PARFUM (OR PARFUM DE TOILETTE): Eau, or water, is the term for the other kind of combination that is made with fragrance essence and alcohol. Occasionally, the small amount of water in a combination becomes overwhelmed by alcohol. Because it comprises an alcohol with 80–90% purity and 8–15% perfume oil, Eau de Parfum is recognized as the highest grade of Eau.
EAU DE TOILETTE: About 4-8% of this mixture is made up of perfume oil, while the remaining 80% is made up of alcohol.
EAU DE COLOGNE: According to contemporary perfumers, 3-5% of the combination is made up of perfume oil, while the remaining 70% is alcohol.
EAU FRAICHE: About 3% of this mixture contains perfume oil, while the remaining 80% is made up of higher-grade alcohol.
SPLASH COLOGNE: This is the term for toilet water that contains a very little amount of perfume oil, usually 1% to 3%.
The most well-known formulations are Eau de Cologne and Eau de Toilette. Better still, they're less expensive.
