A Guide to Doing Iconic Eye Makeup If You Have Deep-Set Eyes.

(Via:Here.)

Story Snapshot: Being in direct contact with the soul, the eyes and eyebrows are the most revealing indices of emotion, whether concupiscible or irascible, simple or mixed. Emotions can be visually explained and depicted as makeup, and soul desires can be reduced to smokey eyes.

How will you know whether your eyes are deep set? Examine whether your eyes are set deep into your sockets. If not, see if your eyelids are thick and your brow bones are noticeable.  Aim to decrease the amount of shadow present in the top lash lines and inside corners by moving your eyes forward and using lighter colors. Deeper hues will cause the browbones to retreat as a result.

As an Iconic Daytime Look.

  1. After prepping the eyelids, apply natural beige powder eyeshadow, which will function as a light hue. Wash the entire lids, blending the product from the lash lines to the brow bones.

  1. Apply a darker contour shade along the socket creases, stopping slightly above the inner edge of the iris and blending thoroughly.

  1. Use a purple eyeshadow to define and accent the top lash line.

  1. To even out the edges of the eyes, blend the same shade down the lower lash line at the outside corners.

  1. To make your eyes appear larger, curl your lashes and then carefully apply a layer of mascara that lengthens them.

Nighttime Chic.

  1. To create the illusion of bigger eyes, use a taupe eyeshadow with a brown tint to contour the sockets and mix it upward and outward.

  1. To bring the eyes forward, blend a champagne-colored glitter makeup across the lashes and around the inner corners.

  1. For the outside corners of the lower lash lines as well as the upper lash lines, use a brown pencil eyeliner.

  1. Brown taupe eyeshadow applied at the lash roots should be used to accentuate the lower lash lines.

  1. Apply an additional layer of lengthening mascara to the upper lashes and a sparse coat to the lower lashes.

WORKMANSHIP METHODS.

  • To pull the lids forward, apply a light-colored, glossy eyeshadow all the way up to the sockets.

  • Apply eyeshadow that is one shade darker than your skin tone to the eye sockets, emphasizing the outer corners to create definition and depth.

  • To avoid losing lid space, use eyeliner to draw along the upper lash lines to just past the outer corner. Be careful to keep your lines fine.

  • Smudge lightly after lining the lower lashes from the outer corners inward to just below the pupil.

  • Curl lashes to draw attention to the eyes, then use a thick layer of volumizing mascara on top lashes only.

  • If your eyelids are hooded, push them back by blending a darker tone from the lash lines to the sockets. The next step is to line both lashes with a focus on lengthening the eyes; cat-eye shapes and flicks look great for this.
