Many women have uneven lip structure, where the lower lip gets bigger than the upper lip. But fear not—there are expert techniques for balancing both of your lips with a lip liner to create a captivating appearance. The goal is to make the lower lip appear less pouty and plump up the upper lip.
Make sure the lip liner you choose complements your lip color or the lipstick you plan to use. Only the lip line surrounding the bow should be drawn with a lip liner, very little above the lip line. Feathering out your lip liner will ensure that there are no harsh lines. However, do not extend it to the outer corners as you want to equalize the top, bottom, and middle of your lips to avoid having fake-looking lips.
In light of this, use a small quantity of concealer or lip perfector to soften the natural color and give the appearance that the bottom lip is less plump. Next, draw a thin line down the middle of the lower lip, just above the natural lip line. Fluff it outward to avoid harsh edges.
Next, apply pencil to the bottom lip to create a finished, although not shiny, look. For an even finish, apply a small bit of matching lipstick on the lower lip and the top lip. Applying a small layer of lip gloss to the middle of your upper lip can help to reflect and capture light.
