Men's shoes in the 1960s resembled the ones worn during the second World War (1939—1945). During the late 1940s, the style was dominated by the Bold Look fashions. Men's suits were often paired with thick-soled and heavier shoes yet vibrant.
Moccasins, wingtips, bluchers, heavy, blunt-toed oxfords were the dominating footwears for men in the 1950s as the wind of style changed its direction towards a more conservative. Moccasins are comfortable, easy to wear, sleek and stylish. Wingtips feature laces and most of them are brown in color. Bluchers are thick-soled and feature laces. Oxfords are shiny in appearance.
During the late of 1950s—Italian shoe style dominated the men's footwear market, coming with architectural silhouettes and dramatic materials. They featured details like longer in size, light in weight and low-cut upper. Thereafter, men of all ages favored tennis or athletic shoes due to their practicality and comfortability.
The New Look reimagined women's style and elegance. Footwear featured cut-out details and pointed toes. During the early of 1950s—footwear styles for women stiletto heels with needle-like heels. They also came with vibrant materials such as suede, patent leather with designs that are eye-catching.
In the late of 1950s, women's dresses featured shorter hemlines therefore the style of footwear changed too. Pumps dominated women's wardrobe as a footwear choice.
