……Sharon asked calmly—pressing with an unrushed and unanxious foot on the accelerator as the red light turned to green. "If I get there!" mumbled Gia…….

Gia shifted grouchy—but didn't say a word as her sister brought the car to another stop. "Do relax, sweetheart!" Sharon, Gia's older [skin and blister] —glanced at her with a stingy pampering smile from the driver's seat before returning her eyes to the Sunday afternoon traffic. Gia's leer squinted through the spiraling snowflakes and remained anchored—on the red light holding them at a standstill.

Sharon continued—completely blasé, "I really will get you to the airport on time." "I can't stand it! yowled Gia, flaring-up at last. "How long is this light going to stay red?"

"Now that you are finally going somewhere you just can't wait to get there?" Sharon asked calmly—pressing with an unrushed and unanxious foot on the accelerator as the red light turned to green. "If I get there!" mumbled Gia—sending her sister an aggrieved look. It appeared every nerve in her body was tuned in to Pearson International Airport.

She felt as though everything that was occurring in her haste surrounding was all wrong. Gia willed the snow to stop and all the cars to go away. She wished for green lights and a faintly heftier foot on the gas. Sharon, frequently so nimble—was being insupportably slow. Gia didn't even feel like talking—for all her concentration was engaged in urging Sharon's long white jaguar sedan closer to the airport.
